Shipping and Delivery Policies and Procedures
ELEMENT HOME is responsible for payment of shipping costs for Special Order merchandise shipped to the designated receiving warehouse for the Client’s delivery location. ELEMENT HOME will coordinate white glove delivery service of merchandise ordered by the Client, to be provided by qualified independent receiving warehouses and delivery companies. Client is responsible for payment of white glove delivery fees based upon details set forth here. Please refer to the Trade Program for exceptions to these Policies and Procedures when the Special Order is placed by an Interior Designer in the ELEMENT HOME TRADE PROGRAM..
Calculation of Delivery Fees – White Glove Delivery fees are generally calculated based upon an hourly rate of $140 for a two-person team, which includes loading and unloading, transit time to and from the receiving warehouse to the Client’s address, unpacking and assembly, placement in desired location and removal of packaging and delivery debris. The fee will be adjusted if more than two men are needed for the delivery. The estimated delivery time is based upon the access details provided by the Client, described below.
Access to Delivery Location and Placement in the Client Residence – Client is responsible to confirm that there is adequate access to the delivery location and to the desired placement location in the Client’s residence for the merchandise to be delivered, including:
- Exterior access – driveways, loading docks, building elevators and exterior stairs
- Interior access – doorways, hallways, ceilings, corners, fixtures, railings, elevators and stairs
ELEMENT HOME is not responsible if there are any issues with exterior or interior access for the delivery resulting in delivery challenges or the inability to deliver merchandise. Clients may be charged if additional time is required beyond what was anticipated..
Additional Services to be Provided by Delivery Team – The delivery team shall be granted access to the delivery placement location without moving existing furniture, removing fixtures or railings. Should additional services be required during the delivery process the Client will be charged accordingly. The Client may request removal of existing furniture in the home with advance notice to ELEMENT HOME and will be charged accordingly.
Inspection of Merchandise Delivered – Client is responsible to inspect thoroughly all delivered merchandise, report and document any issues, concerns or damage on the delivery paperwork before the delivery team leaves the residence.
Storage of Merchandise at Receiving Warehouse – If Client is unable to accept delivery within ten days of all merchandise being received and inspected at the receiving warehouse, Client agrees to pay a storage fee in the amount set forth by the delivery company based upon the merchandise being stored, with a monthly minimum of $50.
Customer Pick Up Option – In certain instances the Client may choose to pick up merchandise at the receiving warehouse rather than accept white glove delivery. Client must make specific arrangements with Element Home for pickup, with at least two business days notice before pickup. Client is responsible to inspect thoroughly all merchandise, report and document any issues, concerns or damage on the pickup paperwork before merchandise is loaded into Client’s vehicle. ELEMENT HOME is not responsible for damage or discrepancies once the merchandise leaves the receiving warehouse. Depending upon the policies of the delivery company there may be a pickup fee which is the responsibility of the Client.
